Welcome to our Year 1 home learning page
Dear Parents/Carers,
As you know we are following government guidance and precautions to keep the children, staff and families as safe as possible. We are asking you to please support with Remote Learning, we all need to work together to ensure any disruption to your child's learning is kept to an absolute minimum. The children worked so hard last term and made excellent progress, we want them to continue working hard at home and progress further, we need your support with this. It is really important that all our children access online learning daily. We will be monitoring this closely and supporting you with this.
Please use this learning page to access daily Phonics, Maths and English tasks. We will set activities linked to the Year One curriculum. Please encourage your child to complete the activities on the website everyday. Please spend time each day going over spellings they have in their spelling books and homework books. You can challenge your child further by getting them to put their spellings into a sentence, reminding them to use a capital letter and full stop. Each week we do a mental maths test, you can find some more of these in the Maths folder.
It's very important that you read with your child daily whilst they are off school. You can visit https://www.oxfordowl.co.uk to access over 100 free ebooks - look at the colour band your child is on and match it to the correct level on the website. Your child should be reading for at least 10 minutes each day!
Your child can also login to Education City daily, to complete at least 1 activity. Please try and work with your child and encourage them to complete given tasks so they don't fall behind in their learning.
If you have any concerns, please feel free to contact your child's class teacher via the email addresses below or by phoning the school phone number on 01254 52065.
