Year 1 Home Learning

There will be Home Learning Packs available in the school office, packs will be available to collect on Wednesdays only, please call the office on 01254 52065 or email audley.infant@audleyinfant.blackburn.sch.uk to arrange a time to collect.

Welcome to our Year 1 home learning page!

We will be uploading a selection of activities for your child to complete at home . Please encourage your child to complete  the activities on the website. Please spend time each day going over all previous spellings. You can challenge your child further by getting them to put their spellings into a sentence, reminding them to use a capital letter and full stop. Each week we add a mental maths test in the Maths folder - you could complete this every Friday as we did in school. We have given your child 3 reading books, please visit https://www.oxfordowl.co.uk to access over 100 free ebooks - look at the colour band your child is on and match it to the correct level on the website. Your child should be reading for at least 10 minutes each day!

The Year 1 Team will be uploading lots of activities during the forthcoming weeks to help you with your child's learning. Please look regularly for new updates especially in the Maths, English and Topic folders below. Your child can also login to their purple-mash account and education city daily, to complete at least 1 activity. Please try and work with your child each day and encourage them to complete given tasks so they don't fall behind in their learning.

Many thanks for your support

We would like to wish all our families celebrating a very Happy Eid. We realise that Eid will be very differnt this year and that you will not be able to pray Eid namaz in the mosque and celebrate with your wider family and friends in the same way. However, we hope you will still be able to enjoy some quality time with your family and mark this very special occasion after a month of fasting. Eid Mubarak!

Next week is half term at school. During this time we will not be setting work for children to complete. This will enable everyone  to enjoy their celebrations and will allow parents to spend  quality time with their children without the need to make sure they are doing school work. We will start adding learning tasks for children to complete again from Monday 1st June.

Enjoy your week and remember if you would like to share any pictures of your celebrations with us then please email us at

the addresses below and we will add them to the Year One gallery. We would like to share some special pictures of Maryam in Mrs Khan's class who has been busy making Eid decorations after watching Mrs McGarry's video in the Topic folder!
