Parents, please read the letter below from Mrs Nelson.

Message from Mrs Nelson- Headteacher

Dear parents

We hope that you are all safe and well. We miss you all greatly.

Both myself and the Governing Body are currently working towards a plan that will enable us to follow the Governments wishes and have more children in school.  This is a challenging task as I consider the very best way to keep our children, your families and my school staff safe.

It will be a very different school than we are used to, with some significant restrictions regarding access to school and day to day communication. The education that we provide will be very different as we work in small protected groups of no more than 15 pupils. We will be spread across school. Pupils will remain in the same space.  These groups will not mix or interact throughout the school day.  It will be very different for your children and for us.  I know that I will have your complete support and cooperation.  The most difficult part will be that you will not be able to access the school building at all. All meet and greet with be at different times and on the Astro/large playground where we can safely socially distance. This will be the case if it is raining too! There will be no access to the school building for anyone from the outside at any time.  Your children will arrive and leave at different times. We will need dedicated time to deep clean each week also.

In the coming day or so, my teachers or office staff will be phoning you if they have not already done so. They will share some basic information and answer any questions or concerns that you may have at this time. We will ask you if you wish to send your child to school. I can then establish how many pupils will return and start to organise groups and allocate available staff. It is likely that your child will not be with their class teacher, it will however be a teacher or teaching and learning assistant that will be with them. It will be the same adult and same group for as long as we can maintain this.

If you choose not to send your child to school this is your right to do so. There will not be a penalty or fine for lack of attendance.
Please answer our call so that I can begin to plan further. I will then contact you again with more detail. If you have any queries please ask your class teacher when they call, email us or phone school and leave a message. We will contact you as soon as possible.

Take care of each other and stay safe. It is nearly Eid, a beacon of light in these testing times.

Best wishes

Mrs Nelson.
