Multiplication and Division

.Carry on practising counting forwards and backwards in 2s, 5s and 10s and from different starting points at the beginning of each maths session with your child.

Show your child the multiplication and division sign and explain what it means.

Print off and work through the booklet over the week. Multiplication and division is quite tricky for some children so give them more support where needed. You can also use objects like buttons etc to help the child understand about repeated addition, grouping and sharing.

Here is a link to oxford owls that explains how we teach multiplication and division.

Here are some examples of multiplication and division problems from White Rose maths, again some may be tricky so just use the examples you feel are suitable for your child to attempt. Keep up the good work!
