Well done to everyone for working so hard on your Mr Benn stories last week - we received another exciting adventure from Haider in Mrs Khan's Class - if you would like to read it go and take a look in the gallery.

This week we are moving onto Information texts - you know all about non-fiction books and how we find out lots of information and interesting facts when we read an information book. This week we would like you to try and find out as much information as you can about 'cars' and 'boats'. To help you we are adding a power point below about both forms of transport. Please look at them with your child and talk about the information provided. You could then help them search the internet for more information.

Monday - Go through the power point on 'cars' with your child and discuss key points, maybe you could jot them down as a reminder for Tuesday's task. You could then add more facts after looking on the internet.

Tuesday - Children to write down some key facts about cars, remind them to start each fact on a new line. Also to start their sentence with capital letter and finish with a full stop.

Blue group - Write 1 or 2 sentences and then draw a picture of a car.

Green group -  write 3/4 sentences and then illustrate with a picture of a car.

Yellow and groups to write as many facts as they can and then illustrate. Challenge them to start their sentences with interesting openers (they have used these before) eg;

Did you know.....

An interesting fact about cars is.....

Can you believe.....

I have learnt that......

Wednesday - Go through the power point on 'boats' with your child and discuss key interesting points, maybe you could jot them down as a reminder for Thursday's task. You could then add more facts on boats after looking on the internet.

Thursday - Children to write down some key facts about boats, remind them to start each fact on a new line. Also to start their sentence with capital letter and finish with a full stop.

Blue group - Write 1 or 2 sentences and then draw a picture of a boat.

Green group -  write 3/4 sentences and then illustrate with a picture of a boat.
